My name is Nicole Saenz

Drawing has always been my way of exploring and expressing—an act of mark-making that allows me to turn inward and examine my own experiences. I’m especially drawn to portraits, figures, and spiritual themes, often incorporating angels or other symbolic imagery. My subjects are not chosen for conventional beauty, but for the stories and truths they hold.

Much of my art grows from my experiences working in psychiatric care, where I’ve witnessed the constant reshaping of identity—how memory, self-perception, and resilience evolve through struggle. I explore the tension between what shifts and what remains essential to the human core. In our modern world, where media and social programming blur the lines of truth, my work questions what is real, enduring, and human.

I’ve been published in Visual Art Magazine, and I continue to push my technical skills while exploring themes of trauma, womanhood, and the fractured yet enduring nature of identity.
